Senior Accountant

Proficiency Hub is an Australian BPO seeking a highly detail-oriented Senior Accountant with experience in Australian tax and accounting regulations. This is a Client Team Member role, working with one of our most respected and well-loved clients.

The ideal candidate will have fluent English communication skills, a meticulous approach to tax compliance, and the ability to work autonomously. You will be responsible for managing complex tax assignments, reviewing the work of junior team members, and maintaining strong relationships with clients by delivering exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review complex Australian tax returns (individual, corporate, partnership, and trust)
• Have knowledge of Australian tax legislation, planning strategies, and compliance requirements
• Review accounting records to ensure accurate tax reporting and compliance
• Liaise with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) on tax matters, audits, and correspondence
• Supervise and mentor junior tax associates, ensuring high-quality output and professional development
• Identify areas for tax savings, process improvements, and compliance efficiencies
• Keep up to date with the latest changes in Australian tax laws and regulations
• Assist in managing client engagements from planning through to completion, ensuring deadlines are met
  
  
  

Key Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 years experience in Australian tax and accounting
• Strong knowledge of Australian tax laws, compliance standards, and accounting principles
• Fluency in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in tax computations and reporting
• Proficiency in using accounting and tax software (especially Xero)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• CPA, CA, or equivalent qualification (preferred)
• Experience working with Australian clients is highly desirable
• Experience with Xero Accounting software is highly desirable
