Under the general direction provided by the General Engineering and Maintenance Manager, responsible for overseeing the design, installation, maintenance, and improvement of mechanical systems within the feedmill and piggery operations. This role ensures that all mechanical equipment operates efficiently, safely, and reliably, supporting the overall productivity and sustainability of the plant and farm. The Mechanical Engineer will work closely with the operations and maintenance teams to optimize processes, troubleshoot issues, and implement preventive maintenance programs.

- Design and develop mechanical systems and components for the feedmill and piggery farm, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation for new installations and modifications.
- Oversee the installation and commissioning of mechanical equipment and systems, ensuring they are installed correctly and meet operational requirements.
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors to ensure timely and accurate completion of projects.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of mechanical equipment.
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on mechanical systems, including feed processing machinery, water supply systems, and ventilation systems.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues promptly to ensure continuous operation of the feedmill and piggery farm. Analyze equipment failures and develop strategies to prevent recurrence.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements within the feedmill and piggery operations.
- Implement best practices and innovative solutions to optimize mechanical systems and processes.
- Ensure all mechanical systems and equipment comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement safety protocols to protect workers and equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment specifications, and performance data.
- Prepare reports on equipment performance, maintenance activities, and project progress for management review.
- Work closely with the operations and maintenance teams to coordinate activities and ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
- Communicate effectively with team members, contractors, and vendors to facilitate project execution and problem resolution.
- Performs other functions which may be assigned by the immediate superior from time to time.
