INCOME TAX ANALYST II
The Income Tax Analyst II will be responsible for preparation of components of Federal and State Income Tax workpapers and tax return compliance as well as providing support to the North America Income Tax team by assisting with federal and state tax projects. He/She will prepare income calculation workpapers, make quarterly tax payments, assist with special tax projects, help support income tax audits, perform tax research, help carry out tax planning initiatives and various other tax related projects, as well as providing tax information to other departments as requested.
What you’ll do at Insight
- The Tax Analyst II - Income Tax will be responsible for developing efficient practices to serve business needs
- Prepare basic and intermediate components contributing to federal & state income tax working papers and associated calculations, including book/tax adjustments, foreign entity calculations, return-to-provision true up adjustments, and other tax return schedules
- Help identify ways to improve processes and increase efficiencies to meet business needs
- Assist with the preparation of the U.S. federal, state, and local corporate income tax returns
- Assist with the preparation of non-US compliance forms, including forms 5471, 8858, and 886
- Prepare state & local apportionment templates
- Assist with special tax projects, such as research and development credit and other tax incentives, research tax planning opportunities and assist with data collection.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, draw conclusions, and make recommendations based on the data
- Utilize OneSource and/or Corptax to prepare various components of federal & state income tax returns, including those related to both domestic & foreign entities
- Support the quarterly and annual income tax provision process, including preparation of intermediate tax provision computations and review of basic computations
- Assist in the support of income tax audits and providing requested information
- Assist with income tax notices and ensure that all are attended to, provided with response and corresponding payments as required
- Participate in ongoing tax training program to develop mastery of income tax concepts and tax software utilization
- Monitor federal and state tax legislation, regulations, and judicial activities.
- Conduct and/or review tax research using research software and produce technical memorandums.
What you’ll need to join Insight
- Bachelor’s degree in accountancy or related field, from four-year College or University
- At least 4 years of experience in US Tax and other related experience.
- Basic knowledge of income tax laws and regulations
- Able to thrive in an environment characterized by rapidly changing requirements and an ongoing focus on meeting operational objectives
- Strong written and verbal English communications skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
- Able to communicate tax-related information in a clear and concise manner
- Able to successfully manage multiple priorities
- Proven ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
- Strong commitment to company values and operating principles
- Willing to work at Night Shift
